In his sculptural practice Robert Huber is interrogating space as an arena of social interaction. His attempt is to explore the extent to which it is possible to manipulate this space, whether in a physical, social or political sense.
Robert Huber was born in Aulendorf, Germany, the third son of the local butcher. The rural area and the family background may be the reasons for his love of animals and the omnipresence of cows in his work. Trained as a stone carver, he worked all over Europe until he enrolled at the Academy of the Fine Arts in Carrara, Italy. He graduated in 2005 in sculpture, but decided to hide from reality by continuing his studies in Prague and Canterbury.
